Hands-On Follow Up: 128GB RunCore Pro IV SSD--120-Day Update
I posted my review of the 128 GB Runcore Pro IV SSD in my original 1.6GHz MacBook Air on December 28, 2009. After just short of 30 days use, it stopped functioning. Suddenly it would no longer boot my MacBook Air. MyDigitalDiscount.com (MDD), the company that had shipped me the Runcore SSD, immediately sent me an RMA number and replaced it.
As noted in my 60-day follow up, it took MDD three weeks to ship me a replacement SSD after receiving mine back because the firmware was being updated and MDD wanted to make sure I got a replacement with the latest version, 1916.
Now some 60+ days later, the replacement Runcore Pro IV SSD is still running great and hasn't skipped a beat.
For those who have an original MacBook Air (Rev. A), I strongly recommend you get this drive. It makes your 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz MacBook Air run unbelievably fast. I will post another update on the replacement SSD in another roughly 60 days. [Bill Fox]
