MacInTouch (5/22-23) has been following the story on Apple Australia's revised marketing strategy. According to AA's press release, large retailers make up less than 4% of sales in Australia and provide a negative Apple experience to computer shoppers. AA is pulling out of large retailers and focusing its marketing efforts through Apple-specific resellers. The retail situation, as I noted long ago here and here, is the same in the US and I believe that Apple needs to do exactly the same thing as Apple Australia.
