"Here are a few more details on the bug in Windows 3.1/95/NT that is exploited:
  • service pack 3 for NT does not fix the problem
  • Unix, MacOS (6.x on) or BeOS are NOT affected
  • microsoft is apparently working on a patch to solve the problem but this may take a while as the existng atch is not 100% succesful
I think anyone whose employer is seriously considering buying a NT based system should investigate this matter very carefully. Remember, someone can anonymously remotely crash your computer (not just the app) by the use of an IP address. Maybe Solaris doesn't look so bad..."
