For those of you who use MacPPP as your PPP utility, probably everyone using Apple's Internet Connection Kit, MacPPP v2.5.3 (129K) was just (sometime before 8am EDT 4/26) posted by Apple. It is also available to members at the Apple Club. According to the ReadMe file, "MacPPP version 2.5.3 is
required only if it is necessary to use a connection script
to access your Internet Service Provider." This means ISPs like CompuServe.
[P.S. -- None of the top ten or so Mac news sites (not even Version Tracker) had posted this item at 8:30am EDT 4/26 when I first posted it.]
[2. -- When I checked at 11am EDT still none but at 1:20pm EDT, Version Tracker had posted it.]
[3. -- Between 1:20pm and 2:30pm EDT MacCentral had posted it citing Version Tracker.]
[4. -- Between 2:30pm and about 4:30pm EDT MacNN posted its 4/26 edition and had posted it, again citing Version Tracker. During the same time period MacSense HotBits posted it with no attribution.]
[5. -- Sometime during the day but before 5:45pm EDT, The Daily Mac OS Info Page posted it with attribution to For MacOS Users Only!]
[6. --MacNN added FMUO! as a source in the evening.]
[7. -- MacSurfer noted FMUO! in its Wavelinks at about 9am according to Robert Occhialini, the weekend editor. Due to a bad router at my ISP, I was unable to access MacSurfer after mid-morning Saturday through Thursday.]
