Apple released the free downloadable final version of QuickTime 3.0. Apple also has a "Pro" version for $29.95. The "Pro" provides enhanced play options and authoring tools. Here's Apple's press release. Unfortunately, Apple's ftp servers have been swamped since noon yesterday, tooting out the download in only 100's of bps. MicroMat released TechTool v1.1.7, updated with bug fixes and it works with the international edition of Mac OS 8.0 [not 8.1 as previously posted--sorry!]. TT is an indispensible utility for analyzing the system file's status, rebuilding the desktop and zapping PRAM. [Thanks Dana Baggett]
