The Apple Store Online now lists the new PowerMac G3 233 MHz mini-tower.

The base price is $2,349 for the same features as the $1,999 desktop except 6 MB of SGRAM (video) in the MT instead of only 2 MB in the DT -- and the case, of course.

PowerLogix released G3 Cache Control v1.2.1 (21K) Wednesday, an update to v1.2 which was released Sunday. I had startup hangs with v1.2 that I reported to PowerLogix and noted here on Tuesday. Disabling Startup Doubler 1.1, reduced but did not eliminate the startup hangs while loading the G3 Cache Control panel. However, v1.2.1 hangs on startup every time whether Startup Doubler 1.1 is enabled or not. I have reported this to PowerLogix and am using v1.1.7 for now. There may be peculiarities related to just the PowerBase in the new control panels.

Remember the contest to find (or make a very lucky guess at) Macs Only!'s "calling" card at either the San Diego and Encinitas, CA, CompUSA's by the Monday after Super Bowl Sunday? Well, no one did. I got a few guesses but none close enough to call a winner. The "calling card"? I changed the home page in Netscape on the PowerBook G3 in San Diego from http://live.apple.com to, you guessed it, http://www.macsonly.com. I still have a copy of Aladdin's Spring Cleaning 2.0 with SpellTools v1.3.2 to give away so I'll think up another contest that's a little easier and that all readers have a chance at.
