eWorld = Prodigy?

Last month when Microsoft first began offering a "free PC" via a $400 rebate for signing up to MSN, their ISP, Macs Only! was first to suggest 6/12 that Apple might have do something similar like a $400 discount on its own ISP. Macs Only! also suggested ATT Worldnet as the partner and eWorld as the name. Could it be Prodigy, one of the original national ISPs, instead? According to this NEWS.COM article, Prodigy plans to announce Mac-specific internet access software next week during Macworld. Mac users signing up would get 3 months of internet service for free, not quite a free iMac nor a $400 discount. Prodigy did offer Mac-specific software at least 4 years ago. [Dana Baggett]
