Is Microsoft Really Becoming "Big Brother"

as represented in Apple's original Mac commercial "1984". Here's some additional analysis of Microsoft's venture into the coming "set-top box" technology for TV, claiming Windows CE is not the best technology. I'm not surprised. The Woz is quoted in Owen Linzmayer's new book "Apple Confidential" thusly (Pg. 195, in the context of why Apple didn't license its operating system) :

"We were also naive to think that the best technology would prevail. It often doesn't."
