MAXpowr G3 CPU Driver v1.4b3 Doesn't Work

in my Power Mac 7100/80 with Mac OS 9. The beta driver was posted Saturday on NewerTech's web site [Version Tracker]. The page claims it's for MAXpowr G3 PDS cards as well as Blue & White Power Mac upgrade cards. However, my 7100 freezes during start up right after the ethernet icon appears. Trying to open the control panel results in an error message saying the cp is not for the 7100. Changing the order of the extension eliminates the start up freeze but the extension fails to load. Perhaps NewerTech's web site has a typo. Hopefully, a new one for PDS CPU upgrades will come out soon so that I can use Mac OS 9 with my 7100 at faster than a PPC 601 running at 80 MHz.
