New ATi Video Card Drivers v4.0.1

were released by ATi for download. The drivers are for ATi PCI graphics cards and not ATi graphics chips built into Apple motherboards according to ATi's web page. However, I installed them in my 333MHz iMac by selecting "Custom Install" and then choosing "Xclaim 3D (Rage Pro)" since the Rev.B-D iMacs have Rage Pro chips. Rev.A iMac owners can choose "Xclaim 3D (Rage II) instead. I did the same thing for my B&W PowerMac G3/300 by choosing "Rage Orion". I also updated my 9600 with an ATi Xclaim VR Rage Pro card with "Easy Install". All three computers work fine so far. However, for some reason, the iMac ended up with an extraneous "ATi Rage 128 3D Accelerator v5.3.3" that I had to remove manually along with the "ATi Displays v2.7" control panel on the iMac and the B&W G3 since they do not have PCI cards. The main extensions updates are: the 2D ATi Graphics Accelerator extension goes from v3.9.7 to v3.9.8; the ATi 3D Graphics Accelerator goes from v4.6.2 to v4.6.5; and the ATi Rage 128 3D Accelerator moves from 5.3.3 to 5.3.9.
