32-bit CardBus for PowerBooks 2400c, 3400 and G3 (Original)
is now available via surgery by MCE in order to use USB, FireWire, 100b-T ethernet and other 32-bit PC cards. This capability was disabled by Apple before those PowerBooks were shipped. Why? Who knows. It doesn't matter because MCE can now enable CardBus for $149 or even less if you buy something else. All 2400c's can be CardBus enabled according to MCE's Arnie Ramirez "...there are two types of PB 2400c motherboards...one which we thought at first would be impossible to upgrade to CardBus. With further research we discovered that it could be done and now we can upgrade any, and every, PB 2400c to CardBus."
