Epson Status Monitor Comments

from Dana Baggett, "I had occasion to print off some documents today. I noticed that the Epson Status Monitor is new, an undocumented upgrade of the latest print driver. It has a build date of 3/00 and the interface is better. For instance, there is a link to check ink levels while printing!

We've come a long way with the Epson Status Monitor. You may recall that the original (9/98) iMac USB print drivers did not support the Status Monitor. Although you could occasionally get the feature to work, it was just as likely to freeze. The next iteration of drivers supported it but problems remained, and turning off Background Printing was the usual remedy. Now, it appears that the Status Monitor has been enhanced."
