Netscape 6 Gets Reprieve

After yesterday's post on Netscape 6's problems which noted that all reader emails were negative, we receive a fair number of positive comments. Most importantly we received a tip from Joe DelPopolo which led to partially fixing our most severe Bookmark problem. We changed our default browser in the Internet control panel from Internet Explorer 5 to Netscape Communicator 4.76 and then installed Netscape 6 on our PowerBook (FireWire). Netscape 6 no longer crashes the PowerBook when the Bookmark menu is clicked. We now have just the latency (long pause) when the Bookmark menu is clicked the first time after Netscape 6 is launched.
