Newer Technology is Surviving Just Fine

Newer, the long time maker of CPU upgrades for a variety of Macs and clones, recently brought in new management and is attempting to restructure its debts to become more competitive. Yesterday, Macworld UK and MacNN the day before posted exerpts from a purported letter to creditors which asks creditors to forgo payment until next February or Newer would seek the protection of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy in order to restructure its debts to operate and repay them. This does not mean that Newer is about to go out of business. It means that Newer is restructuring its debt in order to stay in business. In fact, Newer just announced a terrific 466 MHz CPU upgrade for the first generation iMacs.
