Western Digital Goes FireWire!

From Gary Streuter, "Thought you might be interested in the Western Digital entry into the FireWire market. We feel this is a very exciting marketplace with strong growth potential. We are working closely with Apple to co-ordinate our product launch and I believe our product is on display in the Apple suite at CeBit. Our first product introductions are a 10GB unit priced at $299, a 20 GB priced at $349 and a 30 GB priced at $399. Product will be sold by our existing retail channel as well as our Internet and catalog partners. We currently have a large presence in these channels with our retail hard drive upgrade products and we hope to bring cost effective solutions to the FireWire user. We are also introducing a FireWire PCI adapter for legacy systems which will be priced at $79 and a CardBus adapter for $129. All of the Western Digital FireWire products are cross platform compatible and are shipped with software to support both the Mac and PC. Product should be on the shelves by Mid March."
