Drive 10 Saved Our Bacon Yesterday

We've been concerned about using Mac OS X as our primary OS without an OS X compatible disk maintenance and recovery utility so we picked up a copy of Micromat's new Drive 10 at Macworld. As we reported then, Drive 10 found and fixed a few volume structure problems with our Mac OS X partition. Yesterday, Mac OS X Mail started to behave weirdly and finally quit. We could not launch it again even after rebooting Mac OS X 10.0.4. The last time this happened we deleted Mail's preference file and reentered all the preference information again, not a fun task since we have a have dozen mail accounts and a variety of filters for each. At least that worked. This time we ran Drive 10 and it found and fixed some volume structure errors. Afterward Mail launched just fine and has worked perfectly since. Whew!
