Earthlink Neuters Eudora

From Mack Willingham, "There is a big battle over on the Earthlink section of usenet. It seems that Earthlink has turned off support for a feature of POP3, ie the XTND XMIT, which is used by Eudora. One can still receive mail, but one cannot send mail, unless you are connected directly to Earthlink via DSL or dial-up. In Eudora 4 and 5, the only SELECTABLE options are IMAP and POP. If you happen to be on an office LAN, like me, and all those I support, a couple of hundred here, you are outta luck. I guess this kinda forces Eudora out of the picture as a viable email client for Earthlink users."
