AMD just announced the name of its 64-bit CPU, Athlon 64--real ingenious--and AMD's stock dropped big time. Phil Schiller, Apple's VP for Worldwide Product Marketing, appeared on a panel with a Microsoftian and touted the Mac and Mac OS X as the "hub of your digital lifestyle."

Wi-Fi wireless networking used by Apple's AirPort is the big hit at COMDEX according to this SiliconValley.com article. [Dana Baggett]
