Brian reported that "There is still no ATI All-In-One graphics card for Power Macs and that Diablo II for OS X will be out soon but then we already knew that before GDC. Other tidbits:
"Ray Colcord, President, The Society of Composers & Lyricists uses Macs
- Used G3 PowerBook (not running OS X) and PowerPoint for keynote
- Had picture of 15" Apple LCD in presentation
Scott McCloud, ScottMcCloud.com (comics), uses Macs

- Used Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and a Wacom tablet
I saw a couple of people carrying TiBooks but no sign of any official Apple presence."

Maine's iBook Program Successfully Started: Here is a Times Record article (and photo at right) on the implementation of Maine's program to place an iBook with every seventh and eigth grader plus their teachers. The article covers the beginning of the program in Maine's Boothbay school district. From the article:
"Each computer comes with an entire set of encyclopedias already installed on the hard drive. Ports along the side allow it to connect with digital cameras, digital videos, CD burners, and headphones.
"Wires are absolutely unnecessary. The laptops are charged up overnight, one charge lasting all day. Airports — the term for wireless-connecting technology — have been installed throughout the school so that printing and communication can be done without wires.
"It cost the school $600 to get it ready for the laptops," King said. "But look at what we get. I think it was a good deal."
The fact that it cost only $600 to rig each school for internet is amazing. Apple has a $37 million contract with the state of Maine for the purchase of 33,000+ iBooks, AirPort networking, training and support. [Dana Baggett]
