Pacifist 1.0b4.1 for OS X

From reader Jeff Hubert, "I thought you might want to let your readers know about this handy utility:

Pacifist 1.0b4.1

Pacifist is a program that opens Mac OS X .pkg package files and allows you to extract individual files and folders out of them. This is useful, for instance, if an application which is installed by the operating system becomes damaged and needs to be reinstalled without the hassle of reinstalling all of Mac OS X. Pacifist is also able to optimize your system's performance by updating prebinding information on your hard disk

"I recently needed to reinstall my v5.0.2 of QuickTime and this let me install just the components I needed. It worked great and did not even require a restart after the install."
