Apple Following Through on iTunes Music Store in Canada

according to Brent Hohlweg. "I was reading in the Globe and Mail last week (our New York Times) and they were mentioning that Apple was in discussions with the CRTC (our regulatory body that governs the Radio and Telecommunications in Canada) to open the iTunes Music Store in Canada. I presume that because radio stations have to play a certain percentage of artist that are Canadian, that iTunes Store will have to feature Canadian Artists the same way. None the less Apple is moving forward as they stated when they launched and shut out Canada."

The non-governmental Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) is the agency referred to in the story.
