Apple Security Update 2003-07-23

is available for download from this KBase web page. The update improves the security of your system by assigning a "disabled" password to a new account created by Workgroup Manager until that account has been saved for the first time. This ensures the new account cannot be accessed by an unauthorized individual.

The Update is for Mac OS X 10.2.6 Server and clients with Workgroup Manager installed. It does not appear in the Software Update preference panel of our Macs which do not have Workgroup Manager installed.

We downloaded the update anyway and tried to install it. We got this error message:

"You cannot install this software on this disk. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
