Check Your Java Installation if Running Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)

Use the Terminal application and type

java -version

in the window--be sure to include the space before the minus sign. See this DevNote to check your result. According to the DevNote:

"The problem only occurs on systems that had previously installed the "QuickTime for Java Update, v6.4" on Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar), released 10/23/03."

Fortunately, all of our Macs, except Brian Nakamoto's, checked out fine. But if yours doen't the DevNote provides a relatively simple fix. [Brian Nakamoto]
