Final Draft AirPort Extreme Standard is 20/10 Mbps True Speed according to this Computerworld article. The standard will result in 20 Mbps true speed on pure AirPort Extreme (or 802.11g) networks but only 10 Mbps on mixed Wi-Fi/Extreme networks. Still, this is 2-4 times faster than the true speed of the initial AirPort (802.11b or Wi-Fi) wireless network. At 2-4 times current Wi-Fi speed, wireless Extreme (802.11g) networks should easily equal or exceed the speed of wired standard 10-bit ethernet networks, a great improvement. [Dana Baggett]
