The final step in the Norton System Works 3 has been posted by Symantec. In addition to the Norton AntiVirus 9.0.1 and LiveUpdate 3.0.1, this evening Symantec has posted the updater for Norton Utilities for Macintosh 8.0.1.

This is their promised updates for OSX Panther. I find that Norton AntiVirus 9.0.1 seems to be working better than 9.0. In particular, it has been scanning inserted removable media (floppy, SD Card) whereas 9.0 was not.

I will also install Utilities 8.0.1 on another partition, and run it on my boot disk to see how well it works but I am hopeful that this will be a solid update.
