Special Apple Event Today at 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT)

The event is being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. We were invited and Macs Only!'s Brian Nakamoto will attend. Look for his report later today.

While our invitation is a bit vague, promising something that will be "music to your ears", it is expected by all that Apple's CEO Steve Jobs will announce a new Apple on line music service, one that is integrated with iTunes and iPod. A new version of iTunes and iPod software is expected and a new iPod design is possible. Apple's on line music service will likely be very different from others that exist, one that is much more secure in paying royalties to artists and recording companies. The security is so good that Apple has even signed up the Eagles according to the WSJ. This probably means that other top-name on-line hold outs have also signed up with Apple.
