Maine 7th Graders Use iBooks for Policy Analysis

7th graders at Lyman Moore Middle School in Portland are not just users of iBooks - they’ve become lobbyists for the expansion of the MLTI Program. As part of Project Citizen, a national program sponsored by the Center for Civic Education, they also chose to tackle other issues affecting their lives, including improving the school lunch program, building a teen center and increasing youth civic participation. At the Local and State Project Citizen Showcases, students addressed key policy makers and now eight students will be taking their work to the National Showcase this summer.
