Apple's New Mac mini, a Server with Half the Power at a Quarter the Cost
according to tests conducted by Macminicolo.net and Tenon Intersystems. Using Apache server running iTools and Mac OS X 10.3.7, Macminicolo.net and Tenon tested the new 1.25GHz G4 Mac mini upgraded only with 512MB RAM against a dual 1.8GHz G5 Power Mac, also with 512MB RAM.

The Mac mini peaked at 1239 hits/sec with a transfer of 2501 KiloBytes/sec, a little more than half of the performance of the Power Mac G5. The Mac mini with RAM upgrade cost $500 and the Dual 1.8GHz Power Mac G5 cost $2100. [Bill Fox]
