[10/12] [Updated]Apple's Special Event is Today--Watch for New Products: At 10 a.m. PT in the San Jose Conference Center, we expect ("hope" actually) Apple to announce new Power Mac G5 models and possibly the silently upgraded Mac minis that are out there today. We give a lower likelihood for new PowerBook G4s, although still a good one since the current models were announced last February. We give a very low probability to new iBooks or iMac G5s. The rumor sites have switched off of predicting a video iPod to just newer iPods with larger drives and a smaller form factor and new Macs.

We have no inside info but during yesterday's financial conference call, Apple said that it has "exciting announcements to share with you (us) tomorrow (today)!" Soon, we will know for sure what they are. [Update: Boy, were we wrong! Apple introduced a great new iMac G5 and a new iPod the plays video plus added video to the iTunes Music Store.
