Brief Hands-On Report--Diskwarrior 3.0.3 Update

The Tiger-compatible Diskwarrior 3.0.3 updater is now available for download from this Alsoft Web page. To make a 3.0.3 CD, you need the original disc of Diskwarrior 3.0.x, not an updated CD. To have a bootable CD, the original Diskwarrior 3.0.x CD must be able to boot your computer. If not, you need to order a new v3.0.3 CD from Alsoft. A new 3.0.3 CD costs $12.95 plus $7.95 for shipping and it will also boot the latest Power Mac G5s and iMac G5s.

We downloaded the Diskwarrior 3.0.3 updater and made new v3.0.3 CDs. One of us has an original 3.0 CD that does not boot our computer. However, we use an external FireWire drive for that. We simply copied the 3.0.3 application to the drive and it ran fine after deleting an older versions preference file. The other of us has a more recent 3.0.x version that boots his iMac G5 and the new 3.0.3 CD also boots it. Unfortunately, on boot with the new 3.0.3 CD the Bluetooth connection to his wireless keyboard and mouse does not work so he also has to use an external FireWire drive to boot in an emergency and use Diskwarrior 3.0.3.
