From the Dark Side--Sony Recalling Copy-Protected CDs that Affect Only Windows PCs

Sony recently released at least 20 popular new CD titles with a new copy-protection scheme. The scheme places a hidden application on a Windows computer the first time a CD is inserted. The application then limits the number of copies that can be made of the CD. It is technically spyware, it provides a vehicle for malware and its removal can disable the computers optical drive.
