Apple Bluetooth Firmware Update 1.2 for Mac OS X 10.4.3 Revisited

On Tuesday, we posted that Apple had released the Bluetooth Firmware Update 1.2 for some Macs running Mac OS X 10.4.3. At that time, Apple's Read Me file stated that the update was for the 12" Titanium PowerBook, among several Macs, and we noted that there is no such thing. The Read Me has since been revised and the word "Titanium" has been dropped from the 12" and 15" PowerBook descriptions.

Also, apparently, if the v1.2 firmware update issued 11/23/04 for Mac OS X 10.3.6 was applied previously, then no further update is required and the installer will respond "This update is not needed on this computer." Using the System Profiler application with Bluetooth turned on, one can determine under Hardware Settings->Bluetooth if one has the latest Bluetooth firmware, version 2.1586, installed. [Bill Fox]
