Apple vs Apple in Logo Suit--Apple Computer Wins

The Beatles company, Apple Corps, sued Apple computer for the third time over Apple Computer's logo. This time they claimed infringement by the iTunes Music Store and went to court in the UK. Apple Computer won.

"I find no breach of the trademark agreement has been demonstrated," wrote London's High Court Justice Edward Mann. "The action therefore fails."

While both companies feature an "Apple" in their logos, they are quite different, as we have noted previously.

This makes us wonder why the Beatles' company has continued to waste court time and money over the issue. Perhaps, it is because the last time Apple computer gave the Beatles $26 million in cash to settle the issue. It makes more sense to us for them to simply make their songs available on the iTunes Music Store.
