Adobe released DNG Converter and Camera Raw 4.0

They are available for download via MacUpdate.com or from this Adobe Web page.

The Adobe DNG Converter, a free utility that converts files from more than 150 cameras to DNG (Digital Negative), enables you to easily convert camera-specific raw files to a more universal DNG raw file. Digital Negative was developed to address the lack of an open standard for the proprietary and unique raw files created by each digital camera. DNG allows photographers to archive their raw camera files in a single format for easy cataloging and access in the future. With the format specification freely available, any developer can build software that supports and takes advantage of DNG. For more information, visit the Adobe Digital Negative Web page.

Camera Raw 4.0 update is only for Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop Elements 4.0.1 and it provides support for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 camera. Still use version 3.7 for Photoshop CS2. The Adobe Camera Raw Web page has a complete list of supported cameras. [Bill Fox]
