Hands-On Report--Apple Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 Installation and Use

Late yesterday Apple released Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 for Mac OS X 10.5.1 and 10.4.11 hot on the heels of v1.0. It is available for download via Software Update or as a stand-alone updater from this Apple Web page. According to Apple, version 1.1:

...addresses an issue introduced in Security Update 2007-009 [v1.0] that causes an unexpected termination of the Safari application when browsing to certain web sites.

We did not have a problem with Safari crashing on any Web pages, including our bank's, with any Mac but we downloaded and installed v1.1 on several Macs, including a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, PowerMac G4 Cube and PowerBook G4 running 10.5.1 and a white iMac Core 2 Duo running 10.4.11. Then we used them for several hours. No problems were encountered. [Bill Fox]
