Mac OS X is More Secure than Windows--Why?
David Morgenstern posted a nice article on why Macs are more secure that PCs. According to the article, it boils down to:
1. Fewer Macs mean less bang for the exploit "buck;"
2. Mac OS X, despite the discovery of vulnerabilities, is much more difficult to exploit in a big way than Windows;
3. Apple Mail is more difficult to exploit in a significant way than other email clients; and
4. Culturally, Mac users don't get satisfaction from attacking the mothership like Windows users do when attacking Microsoft.
For the detailed arguments see David's article. [Dana Baggett]
