Apple CD-ROM v5.4 extension (131K) that came with Mac OS 8 is available for everyone. However, I use version 5.3.1 from Mac OS 7.6 even though I am running Mac OS 8 because my third-party Phillips CD ROM drive in my PowerBase 180 works with v5.3.1 while it does not with the new v5.4 nor with v5.3.3 that came with Mac OS 7.6.1.
