Regarding the startup mouse cursor freeze issue, reader Jim Stoneburner wrote me on 5/13:

"I don't know if the frozen cursor problem is related to the mouse....I restarted my PowerCenter 150 with and without extensions, and found the following:

freezes with all extensions: 3 out of 12
freezes with extensions off: 0 out of 20

I'll continue to follow this but it looks like an extension conflict for some.
