Macs Only!
The final review of PowerLogix's PowerForce G3 250 daughtercard in Macs Only!'s low-end PowerComputing PowerBase 180 is complete. The third installment covers conclusions about the card after a week of heavy use and provides some surprisingly oustanding results from simulating the announced PowerLogix PowerForce G3 233 that will be available in a couple of weeks. While the optimized PF 250 is a marvelous speed demon and the choice for those who want or need the speed, for many the PF G3 233 may come comfortably close enough to the real use performance of the PF G3 250 in a low-end PowerBase computer. At $999, the PF G3 233 will be a very serious contender to the new Apple PowerMac G3 233 or 266 for anyone already owning a PowerComputing PowerBase.
