Norton Utilities 3.5

Regarding Norton Utilities 3.5, reader Tom Mackie reports that "... the Read Me file has an error (confirmed by Symantec Tech support) ... saying "If you experience difficulties installing or reinstalling the Norton Utilities, we recommend booting the computer from the Norton Utilities for Macintosh CD-ROM." The problem with doing so is that the Installer will NOT update System files (Filesaver, etc) that aren't on the (current) Startup Disk -- so what you'll end up with is a new Norton Utilities folder on your target HD with all the _old_ system files & Preferences." In addition, there is a report that there might be an installer error which tries to install NUM on an external hard drive--any word on this?
