Speaking of mega losses, Apple issued a press release on it fourth quarter financial results late yesterday. The fourth quarter operating loss was $24 million. This is higher than analysts' point forecast of $17-18 million, but with restructuring charges of $62 million and the cost of PowerComputing's license of $75 million the fourth quarter loss balloons to $161 million. For the entire fiscal year, Apple was a $1 billion in the red. The good news, if you can call it that, is that Apple's quarterly operating costs were down to $353 million from $505 million a year ago. It looks like we all had better buy a Gossamer Mac or an Arthur when they come out!
