Jeff Keller reported on PowerWatch that AllMac has PPC 603e CPU cards at 200 MHz and 240 MHz for $79 and $99 respectively. I couldn't confirm it from their web site but these are great deals if you do not plan to get a G3 CPU card from PowerLogix or NewerTECH. I highly recommend a G3 card if you can afford one, especially now that PowerLogix has announced them starting at $799 for a 233 MHz G3. The performance increase is phenomenal!

Yesterday Apple officially reported a first quarter profit of $47 million on revenues of $1.6 billion according to Apple's press release. The profit is $2 million more than Steve Jobs mentioned at Macworld Expo last week. Here's MacCentral's article on a teleconference with Apple CFO Fred Anderson.

Microsoft continued to play chicken with Federal Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson in its continued contempt hearing yesterday, testifying that MS purposefully sent out a Windows 95 edition that would not work. Here's NEWS.COM's report. On another front, Judge Jackson refused to disqualify Harvard law professor Lawrence Lessig as the "Special Master" he appointed to report to the court on the whole issue. He called Microsoft's filing "defamatory" as reported in this article.

MacWEEK posted a review of VST's Zip drive for the expansion bay of Apple's PowerBook. It costs $350 and got four diamonds in the review.
