MAXpowr G3 PDS in a 7100
Photo of the Installed MAXpowr G3 PDS
Here is a photograph showing what the MAXpowr G3 PDS looks like when installed in an Apple PowerMac 7100/80. The photo was taken from the front of the 7100/80 looking toward the back. The video card caddy assembly is to the left and the MAXpowr G3 PDS card with black-finned heat sink is the the right. Both cards are connected by the copper sheet over their tops--the left side of the copper sheet has a PDS slot that is pushed down over the PDS connector on the video card which is held upside down in the video caddy. The caddy is plugged into the center NuBus slot (white) and the assemble covers the right NuBus slot. The left NuBus slot is visible as the long white connector on the motherboard. If one looks very carefully, one can see the VRAM cards sticking out of the caddy to the left at the bottom of the caddy. The clearance looks pretty marginal but I didn't have another NuBus card to see if it would fit in th left slot.
