More on Disappearing Mac Printers

JM Pierce wrote an interesting article on Mac printers for MacTimes and Dan Knight recently updated his editorial on the need for a parallel port on the Mac.

During the past week Macs Only! received several more reports of completed Apple stores in CompUSA stores:

Newly Reported CompUSA's with Completed Apple Stores -- 2/16 through 2/21
 Store Location  Reporter
 Houston (Baybrook), TX Bobby Vincent
Tigard (Portland), OR Amos R.
Roswell, GA Chris Adamson
Grand Rapids, MI Dan Knight
Deerfield Beach, FL Ricris1
Altamonte Springs, FL Doug Dinkel

However, most of the reports continue to mention the lack of sales personnel or attention by sales personnel to the Apple section. Many also mention that the Apple section in MicroCenter is much better than CompUSA's Apple store where they exist.

Macromedia's Shockwave r6 is out. [Thanks Version Tracker].

From Mike Weinstein, "The Daily Mac has added over 20 more reports to its' Umax Scanner Problems Page. I expect to add 10 more tomorrow, and will be compiling a summary of the main problems that people seem to be experience with the majority of Umax Astra Scanners."

From Juliam Miller, "KnowledgeMiner version 2.2.2 is now available. KnowledgeMiner 2.0 is the Revolutionary Modeling and Prediction Tool for Macintosh Computers."

[Ed. Note: Not much else. I spent most of my free time on the weekend testing equipment for a review. I hope to get it posted tomorrow.]
