3dfx Voodoo3 200 PCI Graphics Card Update

With the latest beta Mac drivers and a clean install of the OS that eliminated old and unnecessary extensions, the Voodoo3 2000 is working pretty well right now. 2D performance with every app that I normally use is fine. Unreal v2.2.4b7 at 1024x768 resolution is absolutely fantastic. The clean install appeared to take care of the pauses noted earlier. Using the 3dfx RAVE extension from the Voodoo2 beta drivers allows Quake 1 RAVE to run very well but not up to par with 3dfx Glide and the Voodoo2 Game Wizard from the former Micro Conversions, Inc. Myth TFL and especially Myth II at 1024x768 resolution are fabulous. StarCraft, Duke Nukem 3D and Diablo all work fine. On the negative side, neither Nanosaur v1.1.6 nor Bugdom v1.0.2 are playable. I still get a gray screen freeze at startup on restarts but not on cold startups so I have to shutdown instead of doing a warm restart. The Voodoo3 Mac drivers are getting close to allowing me to replace my Rage 128/Game Wizard cards with the one graphics card and recover a PCI slot but not yet. A note on MacGamers Ledge states that MacTell has delayed the release of its Evil Eye line of Voodoo3 cards.
