Apple's 1999 Financial Summary

was provided in it's annual SEC 10-K filed yesterday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In 1999, net sales exceeded $6 billion, CPU sales were up 25%, gross margin was up 15% and earnings per diluted stock share were up 72%. Net sales were up the most in Japan, some 17%. Among CPU products, iMacs rose 68% over all 1998 consumer-type Macs. On the negative side, PowerMac sales were flat and PowerBook sales dropped 19%. Cash on hand rose 40% to exceed $3.2 billion. Apple's in good shape and will remain so if iMacs continue to blaze a path and if sales of PowerMac G4s and new PowerBooks due to be announced this January begin to rise.
