Voodoo3 Disappointing So Far

I downloaded the latest Mac Voodoo3 v1.0b2 drivers from 3dfx and installed a PC version 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI card, including flashing its ROM to work on the Mac. I found that some of my favorite games (Nanosaur, Bugdom, Tomb Raider II, Quake and Unreal) don't work or don't work well. The first two didn't work well because there's no RAVE support yet, Tomb Raider II loaded but didn't work and quitting caused the video to go out, requiring a restart. Quake didn't work at all giving an error message that a library is missing and Unreal had weird colors although the frame rate was faster than Voodoo2. Myth The Fallen Lords and Myth II Soulblighter seemed to work fine. Generally, 2D video seems to work well. There is a warning that QuickTime 4 movies aren't recommended but they seem to okay to me. I will continue to use the Voodoo3 card and report on other results as they occur. Hopefully, 3dfx will continue to update the drivers until the card is useful. In summary, I recommend that no one waste their money on a PC Voodoo3 card just yet.
