Windows-isms on the Apple my.excite page

To whom it may concern at Apple:

I've been enjoying an Apple-branded "My Excite" page ever since I got a Performa a few years ago (my current iMac is my third-and-a-half-th Macintosh, following a Mac emulator for an old Atari ST, a PowerBook 160, and the Performa 6400). Well, *was* enjoying the apple.excite.com page until this week.

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but the my.excite.com portal, including the apple.excite.com version, now uses Windows-style "X" (close) and bar (minimize) buttons in all their content areas.

I am a professional software developer, so take it with a grain of seriousness when I say I *despise* the Windows user-interface. I'll be damned if I am going to tolerate it on my portal page.

Worse, it is an *insult* to Apple that Mac users should be subjected to this. It's as if Excite is saying that the Windows UI is the One True User Interface -- pretty galling to put that on a page sponsored by the company Microsoft stole all their ideas from.

I've already complained to Excite, and have not received a response. I'll be moving to a new portal page by the end of the week if the Windoze-isms don't go away. But as for Apple, I hope words are being exchanged with these back-stabbing dolts."
