Apple Store Shipping Pro Mouse

We ordered two of the new mice along with two of the new keyboards on July 19th after seeing and fiddling with them at Macworld NYC. We subsequently canceled the keyboards as we noted earlier but on Tuesday, September 5th, we received an email notice from The Apple Store that the mice had shipped. Actually, UPS didn't pick them up until September 7th according to their tracking system. The mice were delivered yesterday in Virginia, after treking across country via Illinois, only 9 days after Apple stated that they had shipped. Apple's 3-day FedEx shipping is a little better at an actual 5 days but, hey, it's only $10.

We think the new optical Pro mouse is terrific and have been using one with our G4 Cube for a month. It's gorgeous and seems smaller than it really is. The EIC has one on travel to use with his PowerBook G3 (FireWire). So far it works on every surface tried, including a magazine, a bare airplane tray, a table with a white cloth, a 4x6" note pad and a tan Docker's pants leg.
