Dreaded ObjectSupportLib Extension in Mac OS 9 Update (9.0.4)

From Dana Baggett, "I have discovered that our old nemesis ObjectSupportLib is a component of the Mac OS 9 Update. I found it here: Update Mac OS 9>Updater Files>ObjectSupportLib. To be sure, it was not installed. But, it is hard to understand why it is present at all. As Alice says, 'This gets even curiouser.' I went back and plowed old ground. The version of OSL inside the Mac OS 9 Updater is 1.2. Dan Frakes in his InformINIT 8.1 says that v.1.21 was incorporated into System 8 and reiterates that no one needs a separate OSL extension and certainly not v.1.2 which was buggy. Swell."
